Steven Spielberg, Drew BarrymoreYesterday “Whip It” premiered in Los Angeles at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Steven Spielberg, Shenae Grimes, Justin Long, Quentin Tarantino and Serena Williams walked the red carpet with stars Ellen Paige and Drew Barrymore, the latter of which made her directorial debut with the movie. The Texas based flick follows Paige, an indie-rock loving misfit who finds meaning in suburbia after stumbling on a roller derby league. More»

Last night she mingled with Mary J.Blige, Alicia Keys, Donald Trump, Devon Aoki, Leigh Lezark, Mark Ronson and LeBron James, and as far as we know, she didn’t threaten to kill a-one of them! As we speak, (new father, yet still very much a fox) Roger Federer joins Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams and John McEnroe at the pop-up regulation tennis court at 23rd Street and Broadway to show local youth players what it is like to hit the ball around with a real professional. This is also the debut for Nike’s 2009 U.S. Open looks, so you can see what colors shall be gracing the courts not too long from now. Games start the 31st of this month. More»

Joined by tennis greats Virgina Wade, Rod Laver, Annabel Croft, and others, both winners basked in the the night’s festivities, which lauded their abilities as players and impact on the sport. More»

It’s Wimbledon time, again, and with no Rafael Nadal in sight, Roger Federer is aiming to reclaim the cup. Serena Williams is back this year, too, and since, in a weird reversal, London is experiencing perfect, summery weather, this year’s competition is bound to be nice for athletes and spectators alike.
