[Photos via Getty]. Yesterday people from all walks of life (how appropriate for NYC) waited in line for hours for the Sex and the City movie sequel's open casting call at the Metropolitan Pavilion. Amidst declarations of, "Are you a Carrie?" and "I have a Mr. Big!" (who doesn't) the patient hopefuls put their best, high heel-clad feet forward for a shot at appearing in the second installment of the epic series-cum-movie. Cheesy? Maybe a tad, but probably not too much worse than having seen every episode about five times, the late night reruns almost as fun as the first viewing. We'll let this crowd have their day, and from GofG to you, best of luck. If your footwear helped seal the deal, it might just very well be the best $2k you've ever spent. More»

If you're female, gay, into fashion, have a girlfriend, or are one of the straight, single men who secretly tune in every week to the New York phenomenon that is Gossip Girl, then you have probably classified every female you know into one of two categories: Serena or Blair. Since the writers of Gossip Girl have now decided to keep us in suspense for weeks at a time in between episodes (not to mention the plot lines that are becoming more and more mediocre), we now need to supplement ourselves with GG extras like this. New York City is stock full of the show's wannabes. Whether you identify with the hippie-boho-chic blond or the preppy-bow-sporting schemer we have some ways for you to figure out one of the big questions in life so you're not up all night tossing and turning: Are you a Serena or a Blair? Because seriously, Which SATC character are you? is like so 5 years ago.

Julia Allison Bradshaw was present at last night's party promotional event to celebrate the movie-extended cut DVD launch of Sex and the City.  The modern day Carrie, admired her real life idols who walked the red carpet at the New York Public Library.  All of the girls were there, save Kristin Davis, and many of the leading men too.  Candace Bushnell made an appearance as well as Manolo Blahnik.  Michael Patrick King announced that there'd be a sequel to the movie. Julia was, of course, in seventh heaven.

Sex and the CityWell today marks the official opening of SATC around the country and people are REALLY getting into it. Many are discussing the appeal the movie will have among the male demographic. While some think that most men don’t care enough about the show/characters/movie to purchase their $12 ticket, the men in my life make me think twice. These men are the Stanfords, Skippers, and Mr. Bigs of this world, who relate to the male characters, those characters’ experiences with our favorite females, and the urban environs they all enjoy. There are also men, like some fathers we know, who are see the women in their lives in the SATCfemales – and secretly enjoy a cosmo at home every now and then.

So last night I got to see the craze over the Sex and the City premiere firsthand— not by walking the red carpet like Scott and Naeem, and then going to the premiere, sadly, but talking to the people that came into New York from all over the North American continent for the premiere. With or without tickets. From Phoenix to New Orleans to Montreal, women drove and flew in droves dragging their boyfriends and husbands along for the ride. What it did was give me a lesson in PR.

Last night was the US premiere of Sex and the City at Radio City Music Hall and by the looks of things, New Yorkers are definitely ready for some great sex. They were not disappointed.

Our group, included Jamie Korey and Supermodel of the Year, Lydia Hearst who made her way, very slowly down the pink carpet. In front of us was the star herself, Sarah Jessica Parker, looking stunning in a silver gown. Behind us was the boy toy of Sex and the City, Jason Lewis. Up ahead we spotted Jennifer Hudson being interviewed by one of the many hundreds of camera crews surrounding the pink carpet. Every few minutes, the throngs of people that were gathered outside to watch the arrivals would erupt in screams as stars such as Jerry Seinfeld, Mary J. Blige, Eli Manning, Ashley Olsen, Katie Couric and Molly Sims made their arrivals.
