It’s been a legen – wait for it! – dary week for television, and we need a major episode recap. From the end of The Office to the first previews for Andy Samberg’s new FOX show, these past few days have been a pixelated blur – and we’ve loved every minute of it. And so in honor of all things television, we bring you, fellow remote-controllers, this week’s impromptu State of the Sitcom address. More»

For years, you've been sharing original sketch ideas with your friends.  While standing around the water cooler, you treat your co-workers to a daily stand-up set.  You're down to throw on a crazy outfit, hail a cab, and improv your way through Friday night as an original character.  You're funny, we get it - and it's time that you honed your craft!  For those of you whose life plays out like a stand-up routine, a sketch, or a sitcom, we've rounded up some of the best comedy courses in NYC: from Manhattan Comedy School to the Peoples Improv Theater, here are some of your best bets for breaking into the comedy scene! When you read an interview with, say, Tina Fey or Kristen Wiig, you know that you're in for a few laughs.  And when you can watch a interview with a comedy star?  Even better.  But the very best form of comedy Q & A?  Web series in which funny people interview each other.  From Zach Galifianakis' Between Two Ferns to Joan Rivers' In Bed With Joan, check out this round-up of our favorite interview series in which comedians ask the questions... and other comedians answer them! We think that humor is one of the best antidotes for stress, which is why we spent many a college midterm season checking out on-campus comedy. And given that some of today's top-notch television talents come from top-notch classrooms, our always-on-cue classmate could very well be the next Mindy Kaling. In the spirit of midterm season and in advance of Tina Fey and Paul Rudd's new film Admission (in which Fey plays a Princeton admissions rep), we've rounded up comediennes with Ivy League degrees. Well, folks, after seven seasons, 30 Rock is officially a sitcom of Thursday nights past. And although Liz Lemon will always occupy a special place in our Netflix queues, we're on the hunt for new shows to satisfy our comedy addiction.  We figured that you might need comic relief too, so we've rounded up some series in development that we're super excited to watch! Fall TV season is in full swing, and we're already working overtime to keep up with our DVRs.  And 30 Rock hasn't even returned.  And SNL is doing Thursday night election specials.  And we'll be honest, we're stressin' a bit, because it's really not healthy for us to miss our daily dose of comedy. Ah, autumn.  The season of new notebooks and backpacks and pencil erasers.  Of Crayola sets and chalked sidewalks and serious childhood nostalgia (thanks for indulging us for a moment...).  It's back to school season alright, but even if you won't be waiting for the bus come Monday morning, that doesn't mean that you can't still be schooled in the topics that are likely too cool for school anyways. Being right is the best. Especially when your friends are wrong and you can gloat about it, even if it just about televised awards shows for TV programs like the Emmys coming up on Sunday. We realize you may not have gotten around to watching all the different shows to get nods this year because you have life or something but we've put together this little cheat sheet to get you up to speed on the major categories and who is most likely to take home a trophy. So without further ado, we present to you our 64th Primetime Emmy Awards predictions, with both who will win and who we think should really win but probably won't. More»
