Happy Coachella Day 2012 numero dos! Weekend 1 saw chilly crap weather no one was mentally or emotionally prepared for no matter how well they packed according to the forecast. Me? I chose to ignore weather reports and had to resort to buying a pair of $10 Wal-Mart jeggings from the childrens department since I didn't pack a single pair of pants because I'm such an idiot. Child size elastic waistband jeans aside, looking chic in cold, damp desert weather in general is challenge. More»
There's a certain amount of unpredictability inherent to the perfect Coachella trip. Sure, you'd rather take a bullet than miss the Pulp show, but you always want to leave yourself the flexibility to pop away for a quick poolside rager, a ride in the Ferris wheel, or a retreat to a secret off-campus show. Luckily, there's a look for every situation and every style (and every weather condition!), and our own Emily and Dena have painstakingly assembled a series of posts outlining them all. Check it out no matter what your plan is. More»
So... have you guys checked the weather forecast for the Coachella Valley region this weekend? No bueno, friends. We don't know if Mother Nature is PMSing or what, but she's dropped an incredibly buzzkilling bomb on us by deciding to make the first two days of Coachella weekend, which, in previous years have been nothing short of awesomely sunny and warm, chilly and peppered with "showers." via hamptons.guestofaguest.com: TENET has proven its staying power against common pop up shops, which seems as common a feature in the Hamptons as share houses. These days it seems pop-up shops are as common a feature in the Hamptons as share houses. Many of these stores last for only a summer, if that, and it is a true sign of success when a pop-up returns to the Hamptons for a sophomore summer. One such store that has proven its staying power is TENET, which is located on Southampton’s Main Street. TENET originally popped up on Aspen’s prestigious Galena Street as a predominately men’s lifestyle store and has now found a permanent home in the Hamptons, featuring a perfect 50/50 ratio of guy to girl items. I was able to sit down with Ryland Hilbert and Jesse Warren, the operational manager and founder, respectively, to get the low down on what makes TENET so special.
New York City's Oak, known for a more urban look, is trying out a fresher, beachier mood this summer by opening up a pop-up shop at the Pines. The pop-up will carry Oak's usual array of Acne, Rick Owens, and Alexander Wang, along with gifts like candles and beach towels. More»
Sad as we are to see it go, the sun is now setting on another summer. As usual, it's whizzed by far too fast, leaving us wondering where all those hours went (perhaps too much sun and boozy brunches may have had something to do with the haziness...) Well for one last hurrah, throw on your best boat shoes and slather on the SPF - it's Labor Day Weekend in the Hamptons! More»
