What's more surprising about this weekend's NYT's expose on underage drinking in the Hamptons nightclubs? The fact that several promoters had the balls to go on record admitting their roles in shepherding their young herd into clubs, or the fact that this is in any way "new" news to be headlined in the Styles section? Does anyone over 21 actually have the desire to go to these clubs? Hasn't this been the case since the beginning of time? Is this what our ever growing conservative society is coming to? Most are constantly going under name changes thanks to changes in ownership, and not all of them can stand the test of time. But among the ones who do survive, which are few, they each have developed their own personalities, their own crowds and their own quirks.
