The second cookbook from Ricky Lauren, author, photographer, artist, and wife of Ralph Lauren, will be released later this month, and it's chock full of the famous family's favorite summertime recipes.

The book, titled The Hamptons, Food, Family, and History, features 130 healthy, fresh, seasonal recipes, broken down into categories by location. In the East Hampton section of the book, for example, are recipes such as mixed berry apple and oat muffins, cold poached salmon, and country chicken chili. Recipes are accompanied by beautiful photographs and sketches, and each of the book's 4 sections (Southampton, Amagansett, East Hampton, and Montauk), are introduced through essays written by the author about the family's connection to that particular town. [Photo via] Well (thankfully) this party escaped our Calendar radar. But that doesn't mean we will forget about a recap post!  Apparently some serious and mischievous partying went down in North Sea last Friday night. When the 47-year old Manhattan man came back to his home on Bridies Path after leaving Aug. 21, he was surprised to find used condoms and $170 worth of wine, champagne and food missing from his fridge, according to Patch. I'm imagining something like Jake Ryan's party in Sixteen Candles. More»

I was a little apprehensive as I got ready for my move out to the Hamptons for August. My J.Crew wardrobe only goes so far and I don't own a pair of K. Jacques sandals or a Tory Burch clutch. But before I knew it, I was unpacking in Southampton, buying an $8 beer at Talkhouse and eating a egg and cheese croissant sandwich at the Golden Pear. I adjusted quickly as the month flew by and am happy to say I'll be going home with some learned lessons about being a Hamptonite.

[Photo via] Say good bye to the 20 pound backpacks of big textbooks this school year, kids. Sixth grade just got a hell of a lot cooler as the Southampton School District is trying to replace as many dusty big books with snazzy iPads. The teachers are testing out a trial run with the iPad 2 and the sixth grade curriculum. The grade's core classes will have 110 iPads available and the high school will receive 60 new Lenovo ThinkPad T420 laptops. More»

If you google mapped Keszler Gallery on your way to the Banksy Opening on Saturday night, you may have ended up strolling the streets of Southampton's downtown without ever finding the venue. This particular exhibit was not shown in your typical white-walled gallery, but rather the original Banksy works were taken from locations in Los Angeles, London, Bethlehem and Brighton were displayed in the grungy Southampton Village Power Plant on North Sea Road. It was a rare alternative mixer in the Hamptons as a big crowd of hipsters and yuppies showed up to consider the original works of the politically active graffiti artist, Banksy. More»
