Before summer hits, we want to take one last look at the Merkato 55 brunches, which have made up some of our favorite best 2k’s over the last months. Lucky for the Koch Brothers, they are twins and always in two places at once. Though they will have their hands full in Southampton, for the unveiling of the Day & Night Restaurant Beach Club in the Pink Elephant, Capri space, and all of the parties that entails; they will still be taking reservations at Merkato. We can not wait to check out the space this weekend. In the meantime, one last look at the party that truly made “brunch” a verb in Manhattan.

via hamptons.guestofaguest.com: It’s official! These photos were taken moments ago by a loyal reader, of “Dragon’s Head,” Calvin Klein’s 55,000 square-foot Southampton mansion. The designer got the approval from the village’s Architectural Review Board to tear down the former DuPont estate and make way for an “inoffensive” smaller mansion. It sits on 10 acres of beach front on Meadow Lane land. More….

Merkato 55 may be bringing out the rosé to help cure your winter time blues, but do you see anyone pouring it on their tanned, half-dressed bodies down there? The answer is no. And it’s not because the girls are more refined. It’s a pure weather issue. It’s freezing out, and even among the most imaginative of the bunch, it’s hard to think of using rosé as a tool to cool off when it feels like you could cut through glass with your….well you get the point. (Feel free to prove us wrong ladies). Today, some inspiration from Pink Elephant, Capri in Southampton ‘08 to help keep you warm. I have rounded up some of my favorite best $2k shots from our sister site. And, don’t worry, when temperatures start to get REALLY BAD, we still have DUNE’s to go through!

The LOLA treehouse is just ONE piece of the puzzle that is “A LOLA Summertime.” James and Emmett are back at it this summer, taking the LES to Southampton as usual, proving that it’s not all Lily Pulitzer and PMC events out east.

Today’s pictures were all taken on the 4th of July at the Southampton Fresh Air Home’s 21st Annual American Picnic at a private home on the ocean. Southampton Mayor Mark Epley led the countdown for the Gucci Fireworks over Shinnecock Bay and everyone had a blast being patriotic. BUT…who was the best looking family there?
- Tim and Carole Reed and fam
- The Mnuchin family
- Richard Wooster and Kirsten Galef with kiddies
- Kate Roger and kiddies

It doesn’t get much better than this. He’s got a bottle of Grey Goose in one arm and an agressive blond in the other… plus his homeboyz are in the background cheering him on. Pink Elephant, at the Capri is the catalyst for giving hundreds of men the confidence they are otherwise lacking.

The Evelyn Lauder Breast Cancer Foundation presented a private premiere of “Mama Mia” at the Southampton Cinema in Southampton, N.Y. this Sunday. There, Arden Wohl made a grand entrance, her first public apperance since that little instance; proving to the world that the lack of love from the East Hampton policemen are not enough to keep a girl from looking fabulous. Today’s “Best $2K” looks aggressively thrilled about his decision to chose Lilypond in Southampton on Saturday night. I’m scared for this girl. Does anyone know what happened to these two at the end of the night? In all seriousness they probably loaded back on the sharehouse bus outside and have, by now forgotten all about the debaucery from the weekend at Lilypond…sitting at their desks in midtown?

Today’s “Best $2k I ever spent!” pick is from our sister site. Anyone that makes the effort to drive over two hours so they can party in places with such titles as “The Capri” deserve to get their moneys’ worth. At that’s just what the kids were doing at Pink Elephant’s Southampton outpost this last Saturday.
