Stanley was in heaven, last night. Pretty pups strutted their stuff on the runway at Pacha for the second annual Animal Care Gala. Let’s just say he got a few numbers. Raising money for NYC’s largest rescue, shelter and adoption services; the event included cute little dog houses that, should bad behavior ensue, we wouldn’t mind hanging out in. Heavily tattooed biker group, Rescue Ink, also stopped in. With these tough guys opening a can of whoop @ss on animal cruelty, the pooches working the catwalk (ha) and the money raised; the evening was gone to the dogs, but in a good way. More»

The ShweebThe Shweeb. See this cool bike-monorail-thing at left? Well, that picture is from a New Zealand amusement park, but we’ve recently convinced the NYC Department to build one connecting our offices to the High Line. Stanley took a class in grant writing, and it was actually surprisingly easy despite the common conception that New York’s bureaucracy is swarming in red tape. hey, if THIS airport in Central Park is a possibility, the Shweeb should have no troubles getting built right? Guest of a Guest’s editor-at-large Stanley Stuyvesant has snuck out of the office today!  He was last seen driving on his Big Wheels to the Midtown Hampton Jitney stop.  Intel Assesment: He is headed to the Hamptons for a long weekend. Risk Assesment: Disarming, charming, and licensed to party.

He also convinced everyone else in the office to leave with him under the auspices of worker’s rights.  As a result, the GofG virtual press has grounded to a halt. There won’t be anymore posts until Monday.  In the meantime, you can stay up-to-date with our NYC and Hamptons July 4thParty Guides.

[Self Contained Underwater Breathing Canine. Via PWWTKT] Stanley Stuyvesant, our beloved editor and mayor of the Bowery has always dreamt of seeing the coral reefs of the Caribbean. He’s got quite the doggy paddle on him. We steadfastly determined to get him there for his birthday  August. First, we have to get in touch with Gene Alba of Redding, Calif., who — as HowStuffWorks.com explains — “dreamed up a scuba setup for his shaggy mixed breed Mutley.” The resourceful Alba came up with a doggie suit for the low price of $40,000. tipsGreetings loyal reader, it’s your editor Stanley Stuyvesant!  I am looking for someone to feed me, walk me, and yes, clean up after me…JK.  Actually I’m looking for New York’s best and brightest interns who would like to blog for Guest of a Guest.  Sound like fun?  Well it is!  Help me as I cover the hottest people, parties and nightlife in Nueva York, the most caliente city in the world.

A nice arrow in your quiver for all those hoping to work in “new media”, learn the ropes, and have some fun along the way.  All inquiries please email me at the doghouse directly stanley@guestofaguest.com.

tipsHow does Stanley Stuyvesant get his barrel-chested body through the day? Food of course! And it’s never a good idea to allow stanley to get hangry, so its important that he gets food. Normally he loves to eat pig ears, however, you can easily nourish his soul by sending in tips. Have something Stanley should know? Share with him by emailing tips [at] guestofaguest.com, and give a dog a bone. Ruff!

Stanley is as patriotic as they come.  And he’s on his plane, don’t know when he’ll be back again.  But today he is flying sky-high!  He made no secret at our office about his support for Obama and his “no dog left behind” policies.  That’s why he was ecstatic to receive an email around 1:37am today from Barack himself:

Stanley —

I’m about to head to Grant Park to talk to everyone gathered there, but I wanted to write to you first.

We just made history.

And I don’t want you to forget how we did it.
