We rebuilt our site, one block at a time, and launched our re-design. Last night, friends of Guest of a Guest helped us celebrate… More»

Michelle Trachtenberg[Michelle Trachtenberg surveys the wares. Photo by Michael Loccisano for Getty] While we Guest of a Guesters were busy strolling around Cole Haan’s uptown boutique last night, the Guess kids went down south to celebrate the opening of their flagship SoHo boutique. Former child spy Michelle Trachtenberg hosted Guess’s mini-gala in conjunction with Marie Claire magazine — which strikes me a mishmash of “brand” partners, but what the hell do I know about marketing. Anyway. A number of fashionable notables turned up: among them were Victoria’s Secret angel Selita Ebanks and our BFFL/golfette Stephanie Wei. More»

Justin TimberlakeApparently former boy band heartthrob Justin Timberlake does a lot of other stuff when he’s not engaged in his main claim to fame, including golfing. He helped Ellen DeGeneres with her swing! (See left.) And his literary agent David Vigliano is now apparently pitching a book about golfing to editors, according to the New York Observer’s sources. They say it’ll be “something of a memoir, consisting of stories of rounds he has played and people he has played with.” More»

[Wei Under Par] On Monday, Lucas Glover, a relatively unknown golfer, outlasted the field and took home the U.S. Open trophy. Where was Tiger Woods, or Phil Mickelson, you ask? Tiger was the outright favorite to win when the tournament started and Phil was the people’s choice. As the world’s number one and two golfers, respectively, they both made their run at the title. But how about the New York fans that stuck it through the soggy, rainy and muddy week at Bethpage Black, and cheered on the players until the very end? More»

Tiger WoodsChecking in with Weiunderpar’s Stephanie Wei: My timing (for once) was perfect on Tuesday. I showed up at Bethpage around 9:00. I got there right as Tiger Woods was hitting his second shot from the 18th fairway to the green. The ball took a few hops and then hit the flagstick. OMG!!! Well, not really. At this point, we’ve seen Tiger do the unthinkable a gagillion times. The guy is unreal. And in case you were wondering, he made the 8-10 foot putt for birdie… More»

In case you haven’t heard, the U.S. Open is at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York this week. The tourney is the second of four major championships in golf. The festivities began today with practice rounds. I ventured out to Long Island to take a gander at the course and the field. (No, I didn’t see Tiger.) It was only Monday and the atmosphere was already amazing.  The tournament officially begins on Thursday and goes through Sunday. Needless to say, it’s going to be an incredible week… More»

[FORE! Golfing on lower 5th avenue. City living is clearly not helping to satisfy Ms. Wei's golf habit]

Stephanie Wei, the NYC social (and GofG contributor) may best be known for her Page Six photoshoot with Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick, her skydiving adventures with Liam McMullan, or her brief history with Tumblr founder David Karp; but it’s her latest project, Wei Under Par, that is really catching everyone’s attention, including ours. Stephanie has jumped head first into the world of professional golf and she’s built up quite the little following of birdies in the last two months. Today, Stephanie Wei will be heading up to Farmingdale, NY to be our official correspondent at the US Open. More»

“So, let me ask the most important question of the night: how do they look?!” Thus began Hoda Kotb, kicking off this year’s Pink Agenda Gala by reminding guests that not only is she a breast cancer survivor, but that ‘the girls’ are looking pretty damn good. More»

Last week, Stephanie Wei’s birthday party at Lure and then The Randolph was more fun than she knew what to do with (note Liam McMullan carrying her out of party). After a LONG dinner at one of her favorite restaurants the whole group walked to Broome street to continue the celebration with friends at the Randolph. More photos below… More»

Stephanie Wei, Betsey Johnson[Stephanie Wei with Betsey Johnson. Photo by PMc] Stephanie Wei has worn a lot of hats over the past couple of years.  Besides writing for this site she has worked in fashion, finance, and philanthropy. She’s been featured in both the Observer and Page Six. However, her latest venture is perhaps the most defining of the essence of who Stephanie Wei is.  That’s because it is the first one that is focused on her true passion.  And, for many that think they know Stephanie, it might come as a bit of surprise: Stephanie eat, sleeps, and breaths GOLF. Before the shoes, the parties, and the boys; her heart beats for birdies. Before moving to NYC, Stephanie was a competitive golfer for 10 years! She played on the Yale Women’s Golf Team and still is an avid golf enthusiast.  This week, Stephanie (finally) launched Wei Under Par,” a site dedicated to her first love, and it already has received the attention of many pro golfers online.

Members of APrivateClub gathered at the Library at the Hudson Hotel last night at the Hudson Hotel to celebrate the launch of “American Hotel Stories” published by Assouline. Partygoers sipped on Absolut cocktails and mingled while others played pool and flipped through the new hotel bible. A Private Club’s popularity seems to be growing with the ever-changing Facebook layouts and exclusive features the site gives its selected members.
