[Ekaterina Rybolovleva, daddy's little girl] After weeks of speculation, it has finally been revealed that a 22-year-old Russian co-ed by the name of Ekaterina Rybolovleva is the lucky owner of the sprawling $88 million dollar penthouse at 15 Central Park West, former home of ex-Citigroup CEO Sandy Weill.  While most of us as undergrads slummed it in a 2x4 dorm room, complete with cork-board and plastic IKEA furnishings, Ekaterina is living in the lap of luxury thanks to good ol' Dad.  And since 'Rina seems to be just so down on her luck these days, we thought we'd help the rich Ruskie out by finding ways to blow the rest of her cash.

Marquee is a 27th St. club die-hard, mysteriously outlasting the mass-decline of boites on that strip. Noah Tepperberg, the co-owner and co-founder of Strategic Group who launched Marquee,  has bottled the secret to venue-longevity and discussed with us his formula for success. More»

Suggestive, sultry, ripe with innuendo-that's how we'd describe the invitation we just got to Tao's 10-year anniversary bash set for tomorrow night. Strategic Group is well known for their elaborate invitations, and, this red Chinese takeout box is no exception. See what was inside, below... More»

NYC sees its shares of club and restaurant openings all year long. However Fall Fashion week in particular is not only celebrated as the perfect time to launch your hotspot, it's almost a pre-requisite for an immediate A-list crowd to christen your doors. Tonight, after Karl Lagerfeld finishes toasting the fashion elite at his hot-ticket Chanel dinner, his guest will have to decide between not one but THREE different club openings to finish off their start of Fashion Week revelries.... Like our beloved Meatpacking club scene, Hamptons brings the same bottle-popping, fist pumping scenesters in their various degrees of posh, just with more money and more cableknits.  Read, take note, act accordingly...it's the 2010 Guest of a Guest guide to Hamptons nightclubs. More»

[Photos by JOE SCHILDHORN for PMC] If you've ever got stuck in traffic on the way to the Hamptons or made a pit stop at the Louis Vuitton store in Manhasset on your way out here you know that it's a truly impressive shopping spot. So it's no wonder Details Magazine chose the store to host an event with LL Cool J this past Saturday, even if it wasn't the typical New York venue. While most of us were cruising the racks of Blue & Cream, Intermix, and TBD, celebs like Ashanti and DJ Cassidy were checking out what LV had to offer in Manhasset. While we didn't spot LL Cool J in the Hamptons Saturday night, we're sure more than a few of the guests at the LV event made their way out here after leaving the store that night. More»

[Jason Strauss, Paris Hilton, Noah Tepperberg] Did you miss the lecture that Harvard kids sat in on last week with Strategic Group founders Jason and Noah? Are you curious to see what it's like to party around Jason Strauss himself?  Wait no longer. The man himself will be tearing it up at Marquee tonight at his very own birthday party. The action starts at 10pm. Expect to see friends like partner Noah Tepperburg and Rich Thomas in attendance.  As for getting in? You're going to have to work that out on your own with Wass.

In this dog eat dog climate, only the strong promoters survive. And, in order to do that, it is imperative to carve out a niche, and own it. Take Jordan Harris' Bloc Group who has been aiming to own Wednesday nights in the city.  He recently started help host the Wednesday night party at Bijoux, aptly named Candyland. He's following in the footsteps of Dual Groupe's Koch Brothers (Saturday Brunch niche), The Strategic Group (Marquee/Tao fame), and Pink Elephant's Rocco Ancarola among others. The bottom line is, if you're a promoter and you haven't cornered a sliver of the market, but rather have an unfocused macro approach you are most likely in some murky waters.
