Are you curious to see what it’s like to party around Jason Strauss himself?  Wait no longer. The man himself will be tearing it up at Marquee tonight at his very own birthday party. The action starts at 10pm. Expect to see friends like partner Noah Tepperburg and Rich Thomas in attendance.  As for getting in? You’re going to have to work that out on your own with Wass.

In this dog eat dog climate, only the strong promoters survive. And, in order to do that, it is imperative to carve out a niche, and own it. Take Jordan Harris’ Bloc Group who has been aiming to own Wednesday nights in the city.  He recently started help host the Wednesday night party at Bijoux, aptly named Candyland. He’s following in the footsteps of Dual Groupe’s Koch Brothers (Saturday Brunch niche), The Strategic Group (Marquee/Tao fame), and Pink Elephant’s Rocco Ancarola among others. The bottom line is, if you’re a promoter and you haven’t cornered a sliver of the market, but rather have an unfocused macro approach you are most likely in some murky waters.

Happy Birthday Rich Thomas!  One of Strategic Groups most valuable assets, Rich had a big birthday celebration in the private room at Marquee.  His beautiful wife Tamie was there of course, to help toast Rich.  Keep your eye on Mr. Thomas in ‘09…there are some exciting things in store and we will be there every step of the way.

Watch out Amy Sacco, Noah Tepperberg has just revealed exclusively to GofG that his sister, Judy Tepperberg who has been the behind the scenes boss at Marquee for the last 5 years, will be the face of the new den which will be a similar size and scope as Bungalow. The plans for the lounge/restaurant, which they would like to be in the old Earth Space on tenth avenue between 17th and 18th streets have been the source of loads of online rumblings.

When you’re Noah Tepperberg, co-owner and founder of Strategic Group, you get two birthday parties.  And, since his birthday falls in the summer, that meant the first one would be in NYC at Marquee (of course) and the second one would be in the Hamptons at Dune (obviously).  Party he did, and so did his hundreds of friends and wanna-be friends last Thursday at his hot spot Marquee.  I unfortunately missed out on both parties, though I recognize several familiar faces in the crowd, all helping to wish Noah another year full of successes.  Ben Kaufman was there to document the fun.
