Summer 2009

All posts related to Summer 2009 on Guest of a Guest for Summer 2009.

It's hard to believe September 1st is already here.  I was just getting my summer started, and there are so many things that I haven't crossed off my summer "to-do" list (like those surf lessons my friends out east keep promising). I don't know what to think of the date, though I do know September couldn't have welcomed us with a more beautiful morning in New York City. I'm also well aware that this week is the calm before the storm, as starting next week the Fall '09 Fashion Week will come marching it's heels in faster than the runners training for the NYC marathon. Let's slow down. Summer is not over, and we are certaintly not going to let a silly date convince us otherwise. Help me hold on to summer '09! Read how below.... More»

[Picture via CobraSnake] Did you know that the Hamptons has only one K-12 private school? You would think this place would be stock full of them. Then again, not many people stick around after the summer season. The Ross School (yes, the same one that you see on plenty of event and party invitations) is located in East Hampton, and has less than 400 kids enrolled in grades 5-12... More»

[Justin Ross Lee's personal photo of him and Christie Brinkley in the Hamptons. Photoshopped, of course]

You probably remember the Introduction to Justin Ross Lee we did a couple of weeks ago right here. How could you forget? Between his "Jew-jetting", bottle-popping, and love of over the top antics it's hard to push out of your mind... or the comments off our site. So we checked in with JRL to see what he was up to the other day via a brief message on Facebook (his choice medium). To our surprise, Justin was ready and willing to provide GofG with more information about himself - even things we never asked for. Including this one-on-one interview he conducted with himself, and sent to our editor. So in case the intro to JRL wasn't enough to get a full picture of exactly what this character is all about, sit back and enjoy him answering these questions.... that he asked himself including things like which hamptons nightclub has a door entrance that is big enough for his head. • Billy Joel might be running away from his last relationship with Katie Lee, however, he is having no trouble parking his motorcycle collection in Sag Harbor. The show will run until July 19th, and one can only hope he finds some solace in the sweet rides of his numerous bikes. [Newsday]
  • Apparently not everyone is involved in our love affair with Georgica. But hey, we wouldn't want to stand in the rain to get in anywhere either. So is taking away the awning a new form of crowd control? What's next? Buckets of water? Honestly though, our favorite part of this video is Nick Leighton's spiel on Highway 27's velvet ropes.
