With all the hype surrounding Montauk, oceanside Surf Lodge is certainly one of the big pulls encouraging mass exoduses out to the easternmost tip. Chilling to the Reggae sounds of Ky-Mani Marley (son of Bob Marley), the crowd started summer off with a laid-back vibe. More»

These two little ladies chose to dress up as their favorite Disney Princess, Ariel from the Little Mermaid while at The Surf Lodge. It is a shame that it is only socially acceptable to play character dress up as a child, because these two girls must have had a blast on Sunday...

And, just because there's no guest list, doorman, or VIP doesn't mean the crowd of Surf Lodgers can't get a little rowdy. Well, sort of. Don't expect to spot the scantily clad dancing on tables or spraying champagne at this Restaurant/Hotel/Bar as Surf Lodge is reserved for kicking back. Saturday and Sunday, Hamptonites ventured to Montauk for margaritas, Pacificos, and bubbly during a weekend of live music by Alberta Cross, Winston Irie, and a Sunday night outdoor screening of surf flick, The Seedling.

Now this makes me think of weddings and girl scout father-daughter square dances. Just another lil' shill for the SL.

It's Wednesday...which means it's the day I start itching to get back out east where there's open air to run around in and no office meetings. While I'll be back there tomorrow already, I still miss the Hamptons today. That's why, when I saw this box outside the restaurant supply store on Bowery street I had to smile. It was just sitting there, getting ready to get loaded into a truck and be taken out for shipment to...SURF LODGE in Montauk!? I know Surf Lodge! I was just there! Oh what great mussels they have there! Oh what an attractive staff they have! Oh what a great deck! I exclaimed in my head, like I had a secret that no one else passing by could share in on. More»
