This past Friday, the 2nd Annual Honoring the Promise Gala took place at the Kennedy Center for a celebrity-filled evening of live entertainment, cocktails, food and dancing in honor of those who have dedicated their lives to advance the fight against breast cancer.

Pretty in Pink for a Cause

DC’s Newsbabes painted Georgetown pink Monday with the 2nd annual Newsbabes for Breast Cancer Bash. Co-hosted by Susan G. Komen for the Cure founder Ambassador Nancy Brinker and DC’s First Lady Michelle Obama, over 500 people turned out at the Ritz-Carlton in Georgetown to sip on pink martinis and chomp on cotton candy. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, painting New York City pink through various fundraiser events. This past weekend, the Avon Walk traversed the concrete playground, ending in Hudson River Park with an impressive $9.5 million raised for the cause. We very much enjoyed some participants wearing the Save the Tata's shirt reading, "Save a Life, Grope Your Wife." That is the perfect example of how there are countless ways to show support, and each little bit helps. More»
