Last night, the place to be was the Versace sponsored Whitney Studio Party (stay tuned for full coverage, later this afternoon!), hosted by the Arts Council, chaired by Penelope Cruz and organized by committee members including our own Rachelle Hruska. Clad in and accompanied by Keith Lissner, she welcomed patron partiers  Lindsay Lohan and Donatella Versace (above); just a few of those who turned out in art chic for honoree Leonard Lauder. When Chace Crawford has a good night, looks-wise, it’s sort of unfair to humanity. And last night at the premiere of Penn Badgley’s new movie, The Stepfather, Chace was having a very, VERY good night. Like, possibly the best he’s ever looked. Also in attendance were Ed Westwick, Taylor Momsen, Matthew Settle, Connor Paolo, and Jessica Szohr (also looking even prettier than usual. Which, again, is not fair, because if anyone deserves to have a night where they look prettier than usual it shouldn’t be a cast member of Gossip Girl.) Suspiciously missing? Filming outside our Bowery office, Gossip Girl has made coming to work a lot more enjoyable. Now in Day 2 of watch, we can confirm that Chace Crawford is still deathly handsome (you’d think he’s hawking plaid from the model shots, below), almost disconcertingly so. Also, DJ Nick Cohen is apparently friends with the cast, either that or he’s making an appearance this season (possibly following on again off again girlfriend Alexandra’s premiere episode cameo?). How are the celebs finishing out September? Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts, who break out a new mode of transportation about every two days, were seen riding their vespa in New York, Kristin Cavallari, Stephanie Pratt, and Lo Bosworth stumbled out of M16 in West Hollywood, and Mrs.Draper (aka January Jones) went to Washington. And, as mentioned earlier, Gossip Girl was filming outside of our office today, and, uhm, based on what Taylor Momsen was wearing, let’s hope it was the Halloween episode. Click below for pics! Little J, the Gossip Girl turned bad girl rockstar has decided it’s time to clean up her image.  Enter Clinique’s Fresh Faces Tour. They have decided to make Taylor Momsen the face of their 2009 campaign. Because apparently Momsen is just the kind of roll model we need for girls across the nation to look up to, literally-have you seen the height of the heels she’s been sporting?! Alas, we’re glad to see Momsen is taking a break from the Bad Girl gone wild routine, and with Lindsay Lohan back in L.A., maybe she actually has a chance! Look how happy she is! Last night GQ and Dior Homme hosted dinner guests including Mischa Barton, Rachel Bilson, Hayden Christiansen, Chace Crawford, Josh Hartnett, Taylor Momsen, Miranda Kerr and Byrdie Bell; gathered at the Cooper Square Hotel penthouse to honor Dior Homme Artistic Director Kris Van Assche, making his first official press appearance in the United States. The dinner was picturesque, to say the very least.

August marks that special time in the summer when the interns return to their college campuses, and the Manhattan finally gets its city back.  With just over a month until the Season Three premiere of Gossip Girl, the full cast has begun to return for an aggressive filming schedule.  We hear Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Chance Crawford, Taylor Momsen, and newcomer Hilary Duff were all on time for an early morning taping in the West Village yesterday - hope this doesn’t put cramp in the Gossip Girl’s class schedule.
