In a sense, the third and final day of Coachella is the trickiest for both the schedulers and the festival-goers themselves. With two straight days of desert heat, nonstop music, killer parties, and whatever, um, extracurricular activities you may be getting into under the belt, it may feel like a challenge to maintain a third full of day of music. The blogosphere and social media platforms collectively took a giant shidoobee in their cyber panties yesterday afternoon at the announcement of the highly speculated Coachella 2012 lineup. Would the fact that this year's festival expanding to two consecutive weekends featuring the same lineup and set schedule preclude certain artists from being able to play? I guess we'll never know, but it doesn't seem to have thrown too much of a wrench in getting dope musical acts on the bill, even though Daft Punk and David Bowie are once again absent from the list (Goldenvoice, how many times do I have to ask you to make that happen?). Right off the bat, let me say that I love video games. Not as much as my brother, maybe, who has been known to tell everyone he's going to bed, only to be discovered in his room at 6 a.m., bleary-eyed and surrounded by empty Dr. Pepper cans, death-gripping an Xbox controller.
