Cancer101 sort of sounds like an ill fated biology class from college, no? Well, Cancer101 is in fact a non-for-profit organization whose mission is to “empower patients, survivors, caregivers and those affected by breast cancer to take control of their diagnosis by providing them with the necessary armor to fight the disease.” On June 30, Cancer101 hosted “Big Top At The Bowery” a benefit cocktail party at The Bowery Hotel honoring patients, survivors, and caregivers.

The Spring Ball for Save Venice may have been a little dressy for Stanley’s taste, but Truman Capote would have loved it. He might have noticed a shift in style though. Rather than the uptown traditional sit down dinner, this gala, held at the Bowery Hotel, offered only drinks, dessert and dancing. Luigi Tadini noted that he hoped the change in arrangements would make the event “a bit more open and free.” [Save Venice Write Up #1]

We Were All Smiles At The Bowery Hotel Last Night For Matt Kliegman And Carlos Quirarte’s Party

[All photos by CHANCE YEH for PMc]
What do Kirsten Dunst, Erin Wasson, Mary Kate Olsen, Lee Call, Peaches Geldof, Stavros Niarchos, and I all have in common? We are SICK of fashion week festivities. I am going to go out on a limb here, and say that last night’s party at the Bowery Hotel was one of the more enjoyable ones of the week for everyone involved. Matt Kliegman and Carlos Quirarte are opening a new venture The Smile (restaurant/store/tattoo store) and hosted a joint party with Wool & The Gang’s U.S. launch. Thank you to all parties involved, for organizing something unrelated to fashion week last night.

Le Baron at the Bowery Hotel was the talk of the town this weekend. It all started, of course, with the Belvedere IX party last Thursday, and, continued with 4 solid nights of partying. Some have claimed that, with this partnership, Le Baron has lost it’s edge. Though with this new evidence (photos), we think that Andre looks to be doing just fine. From Thursday: Andre Saraiva, co-owner of Le Baron–and our dear old Beatrice Inn–had collaborated with Belvedere to design the funky “Mr. IX” logo, and played host for the evening while Paul Sevigny worked the turntables.

The line was around the corner at the Bowery Hotel for the Belvedere IX party last night, when the chic space transformed into a satellite of the even chicer Le Baron club (of Paris–and Tokyo–fame). Perhaps this new venture will bring some much-needed life to the hotel… but the outpost will be around for a limited time only, so get over there while you can kiddies! Andre Saraiva, co-owner of Le Baron–and our dear old Beatrice Inn–had collaborated with Belvedere to design the funky “Mr. IX” logo, and played host for the evening while Paul Sevigny worked the turntables.

After swearing off going out last night, we headed home and took a little nap. That’s when the texting started. “Come out, don’t stay in, we miss you, you’re on the list.” We are weak and so we succumbed. At least it was for a good cause. We dragged our asses to the Bowery Hotel for the Art Rocks benefit. Lydia was scheduled to host but as she is working in Paris was not able to attend. The crowd was a mixed bag of socialites, hipsters and guys in suits. The bar was completely impossible and was at least 6 people deep, so we did something we rarely do. We didn’t drink! Others seen not drinking included: Martin Dawson, Kristian Laliberte, Devorah Rose, David Chines, Rachelle Hruska, Matt Levine, Ally Hilfiger, David X. Pruting, David Foote and countless more. Read Rachelle’s write up HERE.

Last night’s ArtRocks benefit at the Bowery Hotel was the most fun I’ve had all week. EVERYONE was there. Emmett Shine, James Cruinkshank, you guys are my boys. You rock. And, even though I had to stand in line at the bar for 20 minutes for a drink, I would never complain if it meant seeing you and your friends mingling among fabulous pieces of art. So, here’s how it went:
