It's Spring, and art is blossoming at the New York Botanical Garden, which has painstakingly recreated the lush gardens of Monet's Giverny. Also this week: the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program engages in "Creative Destruction," Maria José Arjona instructs on how to kiss, and surrealist Daniel Merriam presents watercolors of "The Greatest Show on Earth." There's even an Open Studios on Governors Island. So catch the next ferry, and check out this week's art scene. More»
Last weekend, the Metropolitan Museum of Art opened "Impossible Conversations," an exhibition of iconic ensembles by Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada.
Over one hundred designs and accessories by Schiaparelli and Prada are on display, highlighting striking similarities between the legendary designers.
Inspired by Miguel Covarrubias's "Impossible Interviews" for Vanity Fair in the 1930s, the collection is arranged in seven themed galleries or "conversations": "Waist Up/Waist Down," "Ugly Chic," "Hard Chic," "Naïf Chic," "The Classical Body," "The Exotic Body," and "The Surreal Body." More»

I also asked some friends for their tips on where to send tourists. EVERYONE seems to have their favorite NYC spots to show off to their visitors. Here's some I'd actually like to try.
Also, since it's impossible for me to know when you will be visiting the city, it's worth taking a look at our hefty calendar page to check out on what's going on each day you are in the city. And come back next week for my favorite Bars, Brunch, Lunch and Dinner spots!
