Last night, the Alliance Française threw their annual Trophée des Arts Gala, where they honored Robert Wilson. We’ll have more on the Black Tie event later, but for now, let’s talk about the venue. After so many rumors about The Plaza closing, this picture of Grand Ballroom filled to the brim with people, just like the good old days, is the nicest sight we’ve seen in a while.

The Museum of the City of New York hosted their annual New York After Dark benefit bringing together hundreds of New York socials and the museum’s loyal supporters for the benefit hosted by Fendi. Guests including Amy Fine Collins, Celerie Kemble, Dalia Oberlander, Thom Filicia and many more paraded onto The Palm Court of The Plaza for drinks, a buffet, and to show off their “after dark” evening aware amongst the city’s elite in attendance showing support for the museum. If you’ve ever longed for a jazzy, classy old-school dance experience while bobbing your head to techno, you now have your chance every Wednesday at The Plaza’s Rose Club. This “center of NYC” location is where singer Michael Fredo, nephew of Tommy Hilfiger, entertains guests with jazz music, dancing and cocktails starting at 8:30pm. A visit to the Plaza always adds a touch of elegance and old school glamour to any evening and last night was no exception.  Singer Michael Fredo and his quartet were back for their weekly performance, and the musicians and the crowd were both great. The Plaza Hotel, originally constructed in 1907, travelled back in time with a night of jazz performed by Michael Fredo and his quintet. June 3rd, Fredo and his quintet brought the same magical vibes to the Plaza Hotel that had previously made it such a prominent landmark and historical place in New York City. More»
