Last weekend, Mabyelline and Garnier opened up a pop-up “Surf Salon” in Montauk, complete with a make-up artist and hair stylist to create the perfect surfer chic looks for guests like Alexandra Richards, Dani Stahl, and Kat DeLuna. [Photos by Patrick McMullan] I am craving sun so badly that I would even put up with a mild sunburn if it meant this rain would cease.  I can only imagine how many rooftop soiree’s were almost ruined last night (thank god for tents and heaters). Friday is finally here and I have one thing on my mind: the deck at Surf Lodge. So far, I have kept the shilling to a bare minimum this year-and team hampton has only been out to this Hampton favorite twice.  But that doesn’t mean that we aren’t counting down the days each week to get back out to Montauk. Alas, we will have to test our patience awhile longer, it seems Mother Nature isn’t holding any promises this weekend.

This weather has got us thinking of warmer times spent out east.  Specifically, at one of our favorite hot spots of the summer: Surf Lodge.  Here’s an update on the latest rumblings…apparently certain townies are still in a tizzy over the place, saying the building permit for the space was a mistake, yadda yadda yadda.  They will vote on March 2 to at least get rid of the stores there which, as Richard Kahn points out: “is like a mosquito on the back of an elephant.” [Via EH Star] That’s right, Surf Lodge is NOT going away, so stop whining.  We can’t wait!

White Buffalo, the very rare, and sacred animal to Native Americans, is also the name of the singer that took the over the deck stage at The Surf Lodge this last weekend, to serenade the likes of Dylan Lauren.  With over 100 songs already written, and an amazing vocal range, this guy is quite possibly a “legend in the making”.  That is to be determined, what’s for certain is the hip party crowd he is capable of drawing:
