The Michelin Red Guide for New York City hotels and restaurants has selected an elite club of seven New York Restaurants who unwaveringly stand above the rest. The esteemed rankings concentrate on the quality, mastery of technique, personality and consistency of the food, not on things like interior décor, table setting, or service quality. According to the Michelin guide, three stars signify a restaurant with “exceptional cuisine and worth a special journey, often extremely expensive, and with an extensive wine list.” These seven restaurants and chefs represent the greatest masters of haute cuisine in the American breadbasket.

[Craft via] It's a sad fact that life in L.A. can get pricey. Luckily for you, this week marks the second of two DineLA Restaurant Weeks (Jan 22-27, Jan 29-Feb 3), and many of L.A.'s most imposing eateries are offering a prix fixe 3-course sampling of their world-famous cuisine for a fraction of what you might normally pay. But with over 300 restaurants serving at various price points, what's a baller-on-a-budget to do? Don't sweat it; we've got you covered. More»
