Promptly after watching last night’s episode, I picked up my phone and called my brother at Harvard and told him to head for the hills: If girls like Kelly and Camille are creeping on his campus, he better be on guard at all times. Then I realized even more concerning than these high school girls were the D-bags they were talking to, and their wretched tour guide. Good job, Harvard. Great advertising.

Among the eager-to-text crowd were the ever-pretty Chace Crawford, World Champion (I mean, he’s wearing both a t-shirt and a hat that say it, so it’s true) Judah Friedlander, Ugly Betty stars Ana Ortiz and Mark Indelicato, and New York’s ultimate downtown kid Chloe Sevigny, who wowed in a Kimberly Ovitz dress. Bonobos Launch Dives Into Thompson LES Hotel With Perfect Pool Party Soiree

Summer cocktails, fantastic flowy dresses, and flamboyant beach balls launched the bodacious Bonobos Swimsuit Collection at the tantalizing Thompson LES Hotel on Wednesday night. Amazing attendees (including Nicole Fiscella from Gossip Girl) subtly sipped on majestic mojitos while touring the avid array of blazing bathing suits cleaverly close-strung on the harsh brick walls of the venue, including the “Nanners“, a bright yellow banana covered swim trunk who’s proceeds benefit the endangered bonobo great ape (the company’s namesake).

What’s better than a half-priced Herve Leger dress? How about free cocktails? Depends who you are asking. Regardless, Gilt Groupe hosted a cocktail party on the rooftop of the Thompson Hotel in LA last night, and the movers and the shakers of the fashion world, and everyone else who appreciates a good Gilt discount, came out to celebrate the online shopping site. He hosted guests including Alex Kramer, Byrdie Bell, Chace Crawford, Dani Stahl, Dylan Lauren, Yigal Azrouel, Dori Cooperman, and Bettina Zilkha for his Birthday celebration on SHANG’s terrace which officially opened Saturday night. Curious to see what this whole members-only terrace bar “Above Allen” in the Thompson Hotel is all about? Well, we sent JT to check in on the scene last night. Steve Lewis was DJ, with Neil Aline. The party was hosted by Janelle Lee, Sean Tao & Friends. The party was the perfect mix of mellow crowd, and classic rock & roll. If you are looking for a chill place to lounge around at tables sans promoters with an amazing view of the LES Skyline, Above Allen on Wednesday nights is your party.

Following the screening of Daniel Craig’s new movie Defiance at the Landmark Sunshine Theater last night, VIP guests headed to new culinary hotspot Shang, at the Thompson LES Hotel. The guest list included Agyness Deyn, Liam McMullan, Naomi Watts, Leelee Sobieski, Amy Sacco, Mary Alice Stephenson, and Marc Jacobs.

New York City’s downtown hotel, Thompson LES, might be home to new hot spot Shang, but it’s also home to exclusive rooftop lounge, Above Allen, who hosted their very own New Year’s Eve party. Good times, bubbly, and noise makers were had by all. Guests included Ashley Ciccarelli, Bonnie Awesu, Maria Vu, Max McGarr, and John Aksoy. We wonder how many partyers crashed in one of the hotel’s surprisingly inexpensive suites afterward?

Todd English Talks Libertine, Eva Longoria, And What Food Turns Him On
Todd English along with the Thompson Hotel Group will open Libertine this fall in the Financial District. Following in the footsteps of his other long lasting restaurant at the W Hotel in Union Square, Olives, Todd E. will bring his creative flare to an area on the revival.
Aside from being an accomplished chef and entrepreneur, Todd is one of those personalities that light up a room by sheer presence. We have been friends for quite some while and it always gives me pleasure to know I have new place to eat under his wing. Get ready for some good food and some good times at Libertine!!
How was the concept created for Libertine? Where did you pull inspiration for the menu? Any particular pub or place?
The inspiration for Libertine is really that clubby, 1970’s London vibe, updated into something modern. I’ve always really loved tavern food, so the menu reflects a lot of classic dishes reinterpreted with cheeky twists.
