Last night, Tommy Hilfiger and The Cinema Society threw a party for the new movie “Precious” at the Crosby Street Hotel. This indie flick about an illiterate, overweight Harlem woman certainly has an unexpected fanbase in the hearts of New York Cities rich and fashionable elite. Among those who showed up for the screening and afterparty were Agyness Deyn, Amy Sacco, Carol Alt, Carson Kressley, Fern Mallis, General Colin Powell, Iman, Johannes Huebl and Olivia Palermo, newly-engaged Mamie Gummer, Patrick Demarchelier, Neel Shah, Quincy Jones, Rebecca Guinness, Terrence Howard, Sandra Bernhard, Fabiola Beracasa, Kyra Sedgwick, Alexandra Richards Lee Daniels and Gabourey Sidibe. In what was no doubt the biggest assembly of Fashion A Listers since Fashion Week, The Fashion Group International’s “Night Of Stars” proved to be just that. Michael Kors, Fern Mallis, Dita von Teese, Iman, Mary J.Blige, James Franco, Tommy Hilfiger, Jon Bon Jovi, Oscar De La Renta, Grace Coddington, Aerin Lauder, Emmy Rossum, Hamish Bowles, Vera Wang and Andre Leon Talley all gathered Cipriani Wall Street to honor oustanding individuals in the world of Fashion. Also in attendance was a very demure Gwen Stefani, whose face is so drastically changed with softer makeup we weren’t sure it was even her. More photos below.. More»

Cipriani 42nd Street was completely decked out last night for a party fit for a king (or at least a Sovereign Prince of the most famous European Principality). At the 26th Annual Princess Grace Awards Gala, Prince Albert II (Uncle to Charlotte and Andrea Casiraghi), along with his beautiful Australian Olympic swimmer girlfriend, honored the emerging writers, dancers, and filmmakers who received the coveted 2009 awards. Attendees, including Tommy Hilfiger, Martha Plimpton, Mariska Hargitay, Buzz Aldrin, Simon Van Kempen and Alex McCord were all dressed to the nines in some of the most elegant gowns and tuxes we’ve seen all season. Tommy Hilfiger recently added another address to his long list of retail locations opening his largest global flagship store taking it back to where it all began when he launched the brand in New York City over 20 years ago. 681 Fifth Avenue is now home to Tommy and his denim blues with the opening of the high-end location where the designer joined his friends and family Thursday night for the momentous occasion. Every Saturday, from now until Labor Day, the T-Studio will be available in the store for guests to create their own hand printed and limited-edition t-shirts.

The event, hosted by the Fashion Scholarship Fund, was held at the Tommy Hilfiger store in Soho and provided an opportunity for FSF-selected scholars with internships to network with each other. On Wednesday night, Michael Fredo and his jazz quintet kicked off their weekly performances at the Rose Club at the Plaza Hotel while guests also celebrated Meg Ireland (PR Manager for Tommy Hilfiger)’s birthday.  The jazz and cocktails theme of the evening was a big hit and Tommy and Andy Hilfiger, designer Ginny H, Marky Ramone, Paul Schindler, Eric Beall, and many more mixed and mingled at the classic New York landmark.
