With the first weekend of Coachella in the books already, it might be understandable to think that the music community was going into a four-day hibernation to gear up for Friday. However, Goldenvoice is instead seizing the opportunity of having so many big-name bands sticking around for the week and throwing incredible shows all over the greater L.A. area, including possibly the greatest week of shows Pomona has ever seen. We posted a thorough breakdown of Coachella-related L.A. shows when they were announced last month, and it's even more relevant today. So don't wait until the weekend, Go See A Show! MORE>>

Coachella-goers: by now, hopefully, you've got yourself together. You're dressed, ready, you've studied the setlist, maybe you're even at the gates already. But, tragic as it is to admit, you can't be everywhere at once, so you've still got some tough choices to make. Some good news for those of you unable to partake in either of the two back-to-back Coachella weekends next month. As of Monday, the festival's producer Goldenvoice unveiled a fully-loaded schedule of shows in the L.A. area in the days surrounding the desert music festival. They've deemed the two-week live music extravaganza "Goldenvoice Presents April 2012." Whether you're getting in on Coachella action next month or have opted out this year, if you're into this year's lineup at all, you're probably going to want to take a look at the artists they've scheduled to perform in these supplemental shows since most of them are playing the festival this year. In a sense, the third and final day of Coachella is the trickiest for both the schedulers and the festival-goers themselves. With two straight days of desert heat, nonstop music, killer parties, and whatever, um, extracurricular activities you may be getting into under the belt, it may feel like a challenge to maintain a third full of day of music. But Goldenvoice isn't exactly going easy on us with the Day 3 lineup this year, having put together a collection of highly energetic, much anticipated acts that will challenge you to get your weight up for one last day and make the most of your time in the desert. And as we continue on with our day-by-day look at some of the bands we're most excited to see (go HERE if you missed our look at Day 1), it's hard to think that anything happening between now and then could possibly live up to the awesomeness. Holy crap, you guys, Coachella is one day closer than it was yesterday! Okay, maybe counting down to April one day at a time is slightly extreme, but as we continue on with our day-by-day look at some of the bands we're most excited to see (go HERE if you missed our look at Day 1), it's hard to think that anything happening between now and then could possibly live up to the awesomeness. Most music lovers would agree that the summer concert scene in the Big Apple is nothing short of unbeatable.  Pounding techno, smooth jazz, eccentric indie and everything in between fills the city with such variety that there truly is something for everyone and you don't need to break the bank to attend. Summer is here, people, and that means you're expected to step up your "recreational activities" game. Yes, I know the nice year-round weather fools you into thinking summer's not special, or that it may be an inconvenience in some way (and you're partially right), but that doesn't change the fact that the best live music—outdoor shows, major tours, kickass festivals—all of this ramps up severely during summertime. So here, then, is the first installment of "Go See A Show!", the GofG guide to the L.A. live music you ought to check out in the next two weeks. More»
