Dr. King once said that he hoped there would come a day when people would not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. Fashion isn't exactly the place to directly apply this axiom, but I don't think it would stop him from being proud of the mark that the women on this list have made in an industry with a long history of ignoring minorities. So maybe it's more the content of their "smize" than their character, but the ladies on this list are trailblazers none the less. More»

via la.guestofaguest: Year after year, the Teen Choice Awards prove you are never too young to start looking like an idiot in public. Teenagers, since the beginning of time, have fought for their right to wear stupid clothing, from the pompadours of the 1950's, to the JNCO jeans of my own pathetic generation. You're never too young to start looking ridiculous in public. I imagine this is the central theme of the 2011 Teen Choice Awards given the fact that teenagers, since the beginning of time, have fought tooth-and-nail for their right to wear horrifyingly stupid clothing, from the two foot brylcreem pompadours of the 1950's, to the JNCO jeans and chain wallets of my own pathetic generation, to whatever in God's name these awful kids today think is cool. The specifics may change, but bad teenage fashion isn't going anywhere. More»
