On Sunday, Zacara met Coca Cola in the quarter finals of the U.S. Open Polo Championship in Palm Beach. The guests enjoyed the exciting match between the two teams on a bright sunny April day with good food and champagne - the only real way to watch a polo game anyways. More»

The U.S. Open was always rowdy and never Wimbledon. Instead of the hushed, manicured grounds of the All England Club, NYC tennis fans got an asphalt complex  adjacent to Flushing train yards, with planes practically landing on the court as they neared LaGuardia. But this year, "fans" are driving us to distraction. More»

Yesterday, Billy Gray wrote about the history of bad behavior during the US Open. And, guess what, last night there was a brawl! Not between the tennis players, sadly, but this video of a fight in the stands is still pretty awesome. More»

It could be the formal pomp of Wimbledon or the sport's country club connotations, but tennis is a sport whose participants aren't expected to behave badly. Of course, they often do. And not just during on court tantrums. With the U.S. Open in town, let's take a look at the partying ways of some of tennis' biggest names.  More»

We're feeling the Monday blues pretty fiercely today; The World Cup is done, Fourth of July is done, and all of the sudden summer is halfway over. Soon it will be WINTER again! Before we get too despondent, lets take a look at some things we can still get excited about this summer. More»

So that John Isner-Nicolas Mahut match won't still be going on once the U.S. Open hits town around Labor Day. The American gigantor just won the fifth set 70-68! And that marathon match reminds me of another nail-biter: the wait for the next hometown tennis hero.  More»

[Can you spot Katy Perry and Jude Law? Photo by Gregory Littley] Last night, our favorite serial bottle popper was back in action at Avenue. Apparently he decided the VMA after party warranted him buying a bottle of Patron for EVERY SINGLE TABLE there! Wow. And that was just the beginning of the party circuit last night (let alone the weekend). Diddy, Jay-Z, and Justin Timberlake all hit up 1Oak (around the corner from Avenue) to celebrate the VMA's (were they toasting to Team Kayne or Team Taylor?). People jumped back and forth between the two spots most of the night, but when 1 Oak doorman Binn showed up at Avenue at 3am right after Mickey Rourke, it was clear which direction the party momentum had shifted.  Avenue went strong until about 4am, at which point the friendly neighborhood cops made sure it shut down on time (unlike Saturday when they kept the music running until 5am!).

Saturday night saw the opening of the much anticipated BOOM BOOM room on the 18th floor of The Standard Hotel. Patrick McMullan told me that he hadn't seen an opening quite like it since Studio 54. More photos and story below..... More»

Alisa Kleybanova, Ekaterina Makarova, Venus Williams, Serena WilliamsNo one cheated in the actual matches, as far as we know. After Melanie Oudin lost yesterday, her parents' divorce court documents reveal that her mother had an extramarital affair with the tennis coach. Well that's awkward. Back to the tournament, Yanina Wickmayer defeated Kateryna Bondarenko, Juan Martin Del Potro beat Marin Cilic, and Serena and Venus Williams conquered the doubles team of Kleybanova and Makarova. Rafael Nadal had a match this morning, but play is suspended due to the totally gross weather. More»
