Alisa Kleybanova, Ekaterina Makarova, Venus Williams, Serena WilliamsNo one cheated in the actual matches, as far as we know. After Melanie Oudin lost yesterday, her parents’ divorce court documents reveal that her mother had an extramarital affair with the tennis coach. Well that’s awkward. Back to the tournament, Yanina Wickmayer defeated Kateryna Bondarenko, Juan Martin Del Potro beat Marin Cilic, and Serena and Venus Williams conquered the doubles team of Kleybanova and Makarova. Rafael Nadal had a match this morning, but play is suspended due to the totally gross weather. More»

Despite an injured knee, day 3 of the US Open proved to be a good day for all-star tennis player Venus Williams, who defeated American opponent Bethanie Mattek-Sands. Among the others celebrating were Gael Monfils of France, and Aleksandra Wozniak of Canada, who must now play against Italian Flavia Pennetta (see below). Meanwhile Marat Safin, who played against Pete Sampras and won the US Open in 2000, played his last match, losing to Jurgen Melzer. More»

Carolina Herrera is one show that I look forward to each fashion week. So do a lot of leading ladies.  Venus Williams took a break between matches to catch the show as did Renee Zellweger. Anna Wintour was front and center, obviously.  Others included: Grace Coddington, Nina Garcia, Graydon Carter, Fran Lebowitz, Eleanor Ylvisaker, Lauren Santo Domingo, Hamish Bowles, Tory Burch, Hal Rubenstein, and Ivana Trump.

It looks like the Yellow Trend that swept our fashionistas last spring is going to be sticking around for another season:

Macaroni and Cheese Waverly Inn

The Mac + Cheese Is $30, the truffles make it $65

So I think we’ve solved it.  The Mac and Cheese.  Could this be the secret that Serena Williams is counting on for success tonight when she goes up against Venus?  We’ll never know, but one thing we do know: you won’t find this on the defunct Ye Old Waverly Inn shill-blog. They haven’t had a post on it since the 21st of May!

More importantly, you won’t find any other beer than Heineken at the Inn.  Not sure what Graydon Carter was thinking there….
