Fashion and philanthropy blended yesterday at the Waldorf=Astoria for the 16th Annual Women of Distinction Awards Luncheon where Bergdorf President and CEO, Jim Gold was the guest of honor.  Also in attendance were Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Bradley Cooper, Eva Mendes, and Zac Posen.  The event was presented by the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America in an effort to benefit pediatric digestive disease research.  Along with an elegant lunch, guests were privy to a fashion show by Bergdorf Goodman which showcased the evening collections of CD Greene, Jason Wu, and Marchesa among others.  More photos below…

The evening began with cocktails, followed by dinner, and capped off with a performance by Elton John and Liza Minnelli. There to lend their support of Breast Cancer Research were Elizabeth Hurley, with husband Arun Nayar (despite divorce rumors…), Alan Cumming, Jane Krakowski, Project Runway’s Christian Siriano, Vera Wang, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, and actress Jasika Nicole, who boldly wore yellow. New York City’s own boys in blue traded their uniforms in for tuxedos as the NYC Police Foundation held their 31st Annual Gala at the legendary Waldorf Astoria Tuesday night. This year’s event honoring Mayor Michael Bloomberg included guests George Lucas, Tommy and Thalia Mottola, Sir Harold Evans, and Charlie Rose as they joined the gala’s honorary chair Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly to support the foundation which works to strengthen the NYPD services keeping our city streets safe.
