Here’s a look at Tiger Woods yesterday at Bethpage Black in “Round” One of the U.S. Open aka “Woodstock for golfers” or “The Great Flood.”

After only three hours, the monsoon heavy rain flooded Bethpage and play was suspended.

The pictures I took (below) say it all. I don’t have to tell you that it was painful and conditions were impossible. You’ve either heard it or caught the highlights on Sportscenter already. Better yet, you’re following Ian Poulter on Twitter and got the play-by-play from him. More»

Stephanie Wei, we’re coming to your rescue! The Davek Golf Umbrella. Since even torrential downpours won’t stop the US Open, we suggest everyone at Bethpage consider purchasing (or gifting?) this Golf Umbrella by Davek. The umbrella boasts a massive 60-inch canopy, which has been tested to withstand winds of over 60 miles an hour. The best part? More»

[Highly skilled golfers only- Stephanie Wei fits right in] (Catch up on all of Stephanie’s US Open Coverage HERE.) As expected, it’s raining for the first round of the U.S. Open. Uh oh. Press the panic button. Now. Bethpage Black is already a really long course and really tough. Still, I expect that we’ll see some high scores. It’s going to be a muddy one, to say the least. Um, I know, I can’t believe I’m going to a golf course today - one that’s outdoors too. What can I say - I’m such a trooper! It’s also the U.S. OPEN!!! I wouldn’t miss this for just about anything. In case you haven’t heard, the U.S. Open is at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York this week. The tourney is the second of four major championships in golf. The festivities began today with practice rounds. I ventured out to Long Island to take a gander at the course and the field. (No, I didn’t see Tiger.) It was only Monday and the atmosphere was already amazing.  The tournament officially begins on Thursday and goes through Sunday. Needless to say, it’s going to be an incredible week… More»

[FORE! Golfing on lower 5th avenue. City living is clearly not helping to satisfy Ms. Wei's golf habit]

Stephanie Wei, the NYC social (and GofG contributor) may best be known for her Page Six photoshoot with Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick, her skydiving adventures with Liam McMullan, or her brief history with Tumblr founder David Karp; but it’s her latest project, Wei Under Par, that is really catching everyone’s attention, including ours. Stephanie has jumped head first into the world of professional golf and she’s built up quite the little following of birdies in the last two months. Today, Stephanie Wei will be heading up to Farmingdale, NY to be our official correspondent at the US Open. More»

Stephanie Wei, Betsey Johnson[Stephanie Wei with Betsey Johnson. Photo by PMc] Stephanie Wei has worn a lot of hats over the past couple of years.  Besides writing for this site she has worked in fashion, finance, and philanthropy. She’s been featured in both the Observer and Page Six. However, her latest venture is perhaps the most defining of the essence of who Stephanie Wei is.  That’s because it is the first one that is focused on her true passion.  And, for many that think they know Stephanie, it might come as a bit of surprise: Stephanie eat, sleeps, and breaths GOLF. Before the shoes, the parties, and the boys; her heart beats for birdies. Before moving to NYC, Stephanie was a competitive golfer for 10 years! She played on the Yale Women’s Golf Team and still is an avid golf enthusiast.  This week, Stephanie (finally) launched Wei Under Par,” a site dedicated to her first love, and it already has received the attention of many pro golfers online.
