Hollywood's obsession with the District is growing stronger each and every day. NBC just added 1600 Penn to its fall lineup. Entertainment Weekly broke the news this morning about this new comedy starring Bill Pullman, Jenna Elfman, and Book of Mormon star (and creator) Josh Gad.

Along with Gad, the show was created by Modern Family director Jason Winer and former Obama speechwriter Jon Lovett. Lovett must have some personal stories hidden up his sleeves! More»

Ever wonder if First Lady Michelle Obama's wardrobe was always as designer clad as it is now? Or if Hillary Clinton has always been buttoned up in pristine political attire? What about Sarah Palin's stints as a beauty queen?

While these ladies are among the District's most influential, politicized and well known, they are also consistently scrutinized by the American public for their bold fashion choices...and occasionally their faux pas! George Clooney was arrested earlier today, along with his father Nick Clooney, Martin Luther King III, NAACP President Ben Jealous, Congressman Jim McGovern (D-Mass.), Congressman Jim Moran (D-Va.) and former Congressman Tom Andrews (D-Mass.), MSNBC reported. The group was protesting outside of the Sudanese Embassy right here in Washington, urging lawmakers to provide humanitarian aid to Sudan.

Just two nights ago, Clooney was dining at the White House, seated next to the First Lady. From the White House to a DC jail cell next to MLK Junior Junior in less than 48 hours...I think it's safe to say he lived it up on his brief visit to Washington. [photos via, via]

UK Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife Samantha were treated to a lavish State Dinner at the White House last night in a star-studded affair that hosted celebrities, musicians, media moguls and politicos. John Legend (a favorite of the Obamas) and British folk-rockers Mumford & Sons were the musical acts.
