Monday night guests gathered in Bryant Park to celebrate the opening of Southwest Airlines' Porch, as the company routes its first flights through LaGuardia Airport, this summer. The party, hosted by the Zagat Survey, 'Wichcraft, and the Bryant Park Corporation, toasted the opening of the porch, which provides park visitors a place to to stop, sit, and enjoy a break with summer cocktails and destination city-themed sandwiches (the chicken parm proudly represents New York) while trying to brave the summer heat.

Mr. "make it work" joined Martha Stewart, Tony Bennett, Tim and Nina Zagat, 50 Cent and Oprah bff Gayle King for the New York Restoration Project's Eighth Annual Spring Picnic at Bette Midler's New Leaf Cafe. Net proceeds from the restaurant beautify neighboring Fort Tyron Park, just one venture within the master entertainer's projects to maintain Manhattan's green. The earthly initiative included dancing under the stars, many a Broadway face and a very cool (albeit slightly random?) double dutch demonstration. More»

Woodstock, even with all of its crazies, hippies, and Enya fanatics, still maintains a level of sophistication, showcasing great artists and hip clothing stores. Yesterday, I happened upon this restaurant called Oriole 9. It had a great menu with an abundance of healthy choices made with locally grown produce. Along with a fabulous ZAGAT review, Oriole 9 also features ongoing monthly shows and is currently displaying artwork from artists Ze'ev Willy Neumann and Mimi Amari.
