Zuccotti Park

The question that is lingering on everyone's minds is: Did May Day save Occupy Wall Street? Yesterday the OWS movement teamed up with labor unions and immigration-rights activists to march down Broadway to the Financial District, and drew massive crowds in its path. Aside from the Broadway march, other protests spurt up throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, and across the country in cities like Detroit and Chicago, and even abroad such as in London and Sydney. Since their eviction from Zuccotti Park in November, the movement has been uncharacteristically quiet, and yesterday was their official moment of resurgence. What will happen next? I guess we will just have to wait and see. Check out the photos below. More»

Have you ever wished there was a cereal that was entirely made up of those little marshmallows from Lucky Charms? Today, I tell you where you can find that magical cereal of your dreams. Last night the NYPD arrested 200 protestors as they evicted Zuccotti Park around 1:15 this morning to clear out thousands Occupy Wall Street-ers who have called the park their home for the past 2 months. But since the chaos has settled, protesters are heading back to the park chanting "Let's go home!" Clearly, OWS has some unfinished business and they are not ready to leave their territory. Protesters were told they could come back after the cleaning, but under new tougher rules, which includes no tents, sleeping bags or tarps, essentially putting an end to the encampment if enforced. Will this become #UnoccupiedWallStreet or will the protesters persevere? UPDATE: The protesters are headed to Liberty Square. [Photo via NYTimes]

Flavor Pill released photographer Tom Hubbard’s photos of a protest in 1973 at Cincinnati’s Fountain Square, and the images look strikingly similar to our own protest happening down at Zuccoti Park (along with other cities). The noble crowd down in Zuccotti may be trying to end corporate greed, legalize gay marriage, fight for animal rights, human rights, muppet rights, reissue Crystal Pepsi, create jobs, bring back Arrested Development (ACCOMPLISHED), and reform taxes - but the real payoff from this movement is the memes. [Photo via]

Wall Street may have its drum circles, tent sexcapades and pro-bestiality chants but le revolucion has made it's way out of Zuccotti Park and onto a couple of other famous streets that refuse to be ignored.
