Written by Rosina (Rose) Harrison, Rose: My Life in Service to Lady Astor, tells the story of the decades the author spent working as Lady Nancy Astor’s personal maid. Though Rose’s memoir takes place a generation later than Downton Abbey (Rose began working for Lady Astor in 1928,) her story of working as a maid for British aristocrats is engaging and humorous in its’ own right, but particularly so for fans of Downton Abbey.
