Downton Abbey

Downton Abbey
Lady Almina and the Real Downton Abbey: The Lost Legacy of Highclere Castle we learn the story of Lady Almina–the real-life Lady Cora Crawley– and what actually happened during those years at Highclere Castle.

Written by Rosina (Rose) Harrison, Rose: My Life in Service to Lady Astor, tells the story of the decades the author spent working as Lady Nancy Astor’s personal maid. Though Rose’s memoir takes place a generation later than Downton Abbey (Rose began working for Lady Astor in 1928,) her story of working as a maid for British aristocrats is engaging and humorous in its’ own right, but particularly so for fans of Downton Abbey.
