Johnson, became the subject of much media attention during her father's presidency due to her relationship with actor George Hamilton -- because of heightened security after the JFK assassination, the pair was the first to be protected by the Secret Service. Although their romance was short-lived, Lynda again made headlines in 1967 with her White House wedding to Captain Charles S. Robb of the U.S. Marine Corps. Her husband would later become Governor of Virginia, making Lynda the state's First Lady.
