Details: In the week before Lent, Carnival celebrations are held all over the world, often turning into parties that last for days. The best place to celebration Carnival is in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where in addition to the traditional Carnival parade there are a variety of other events such as Samba schools, city tours, and a formal ball. The party gets wild at times, but beginning in 2012 the Brazilian government decided to promote safety by handing out 3 million free condoms to Carnival goers in an effort to curb the spread of STDs. Carnival 2012 over, but down in Brazil they've already started preparing for an even bigger celebration for 2013!
