The former PM space has had a fair share of financial woes, and now it looks like the venue that was supposed to “save the Meatpacking District” is failing in its venture. The issues surfaced when former club king Unik (whose Bijoux finances rival that of Bernie Madoff investors) began promoting nights at the Hotel on Rivington rooftop. UPDATE: Unik never promoted at hotel on rivington. Our bad. More below…Adding fuel the fire- Director of VIP Operations (and former Dune/Pink Elephant favorite) Rachel Uchitel announced via facebook that she was “resigning” from her post at Griffin and was a “free agent” earlier this week. A bit too coincidental…
Upon further investigation, it also seems that the Gansevoort Not-So-Hot-Spot has been bouncing checks to its employees and promoters for over two months now. (Note to all promoters: maybe Griffin isn’t the place to have you weekly party.)
While their Tuesday Brazilian night seems to still be going strong, the club itself is a bit dead…even after bringing some notable doormen to the scene. We will see if Promo Director Manny Del Castillo (from Room Service/Catch-22 days) will stay on- he may need to step up his game though!
It remains to be seen if everyone will abandon ship or if it will (miraculously) pull through. Good luck, Griffin.

Anything with Unik and Kiki as well as Adam Hock is just run as an ATM for those guys. Very bad business folk. You mine as well give your “investment” money to Bernie.

Yeah, this article seems like good reporting. LoL. Straight smear campaign about nonsense. This post is nothing more than spreading gossip, unless its meant to be an availability banner for job offers for one of the three personalities mentioned associated with the venue.

So True…thank you for posting this, isn’t this illegal?…how can business owners do this especially in this economy where lower class people are trying to survive paying the bills and barely have a little money for food….disgusting and sick to my stomach.

Doesn’t anyone know that the author of this blog and Rachel are best friends and that Rachel was caught shifting table reservations from hosts to her name to steal gratuities and thats why she was fired. The G was packed the last four weeknds. Do the footwork before u ink the article.

one piece of truth here, gansevoort has been bouncing all their checks. Thank Tony Theodore e.g. “Mr Honesty” for continuing an unbroken record of sleaziness and hiding underneath Chodorow’s nutsack. He and Reda should open a club together…maybe in jersey.

I am making everyone at the Griffin watch the secret so my staff will come to work believing the G will stay open, even if they have not been paid for 5 weeks.The Griffin will stay open on staff tips and Jamie the manager has man-tits.
