Falconworks Artists Group invites the city's supporters of community theater to NYC's first "MAKE YOUR OWN BENEFIT". You even make your own ticket price. This party-for-a-cause offers guests a unique chance to collaborate, laugh, dance, network, and raise funds to bolster upcoming initiatives with live music (smart pop from Ariel Aparicio) and showcasing brief, abbreviated readings from "Off The Hook" plays (written by Brooklyn youth) and read by Oscar-nominated Michael Shannon ("Revolutionary Road"), Crystal Dickinson ("Clybourne Park"), Brandon Dirden ("Tyler Perry's House of Payne") and Kiki Valentine ("The Sunday Show"). Plus complimentary food and drinks, games from the "Police Teen Theater" project, a silent auction and other surprises presented by none other than Dropsy Dousman. MYOB encourages patrons of the arts to participate in the event while supporting neighborhood theater that effects social change, strengthens community, and empowers kids. As Julius Ceasar was told, "Beware the Ides of March!" Come make your own benefit and escape the stuffy, boring benefits you're used to while supporting the future of art in Brooklyn.

Internationally acclaimed, Grammy award-winning musician Angelique Kidjo, French superstar Yannick Noah, esteemed Haitian vocalist Emeline Michel, up-and-coming Haitian singer-songwriter BélO, French multi-instrumentalist and singer Mino Cinelu, and surprise special guests will share the stage of Florence Gould Hall at this unique benefit concert for Haiti.
The performers have generously agreed to donate their time and talent to raise funds for two distinct, focused organizations, in an effort to make a real and sustained difference: Ciné Institute and the French Heritage Language Program.
Ciné Institute seeks to educate and empower Haitian youth with the creative, technical, and business skills necessary to grow local media industries that can provide jobs and spur economic growth in Haiti. It is located in the town of Jacmel, which was completely devastated by the January earthquake. The French Heritage Language Program is run by the non-profit French American Cultural Exchange foundation (FACE), and plays a vital role in educating young Haitian refugees in Miami and New York.
All proceeds benefit Ciné Institute and the French Heritage Language Program.
Angelique Kidjo appears by special arrangement with The Town Hall, where she will perform on Friday, March 26.
