Saturday night was a busy one for me! I attended two events that could not have been more enjoyable or more different: Fashion for Paws at the National Building Museum, and Taste of the South at DAR Constitution Hall.  At one venue you had decked-out models posing for a room full of cameras, and at the other you had a room full of people devouring southern food, dancing to Motown, and couldn't care less about a camera in the vicinity. In fact, I asked a particularly handsome young man if we could snap a shot of his outfit and he responded; “not now I’m going to get a beer.”

That is not to say Fashion for Paws was not equally eventful. Ashlan Gorse was there, wearing the same shoes as last year--I couldn’t help but notice. And, as usual, it was the adorable four-legged models that really stole the show. What was most impressive is that the models helped to raise $700,000 for the Washington Humane society. That is something to celebrate.
