Saturday night was a busy one for me! I attended two events that could not have been more enjoyable or more different: Fashion for Paws at the National Building Museum, and Taste of the South at DAR Constitution Hall.  At one venue you had decked-out models posing for a room full of cameras, and at the other you had a room full of people devouring southern food, dancing to Motown, and couldn't care less about a camera in the vicinity. Ah, springtime. Cherry blossoms blooming, birds chirping, white snow falling…the most sensational time of the year.  What better way to usher in the nation’s most popular season than the annual Pink Tie Party, which celebrates the 101st National Cherry Blossom Festival?  Spring evokes a sense of a fresh start and new possibilities, applied to all areas of our lives including, and most importantly, our wardrobes. It was so encouraging to stroll through a sea of pink and pastels for an evening and finally see the light at the end of this fickle winter tunnel.  Even though the weather has been questionable, one thing is certain: the nation’s capital is ready to say goodbye to winter.
