Dupont Circle Russian eatery Mari Vanna finally opens tonight, after a month-long wait which included an excited tweet endorsement from DC's most famous Russian, Alex Ovechkin. Last night, friends and family were invited to check out the romantic space, and sample bites and drinks from the menu, including homemade Blinis (Russian-style crepes) while an accordionist filled the space with Russian melodies.
Mari Vanna opens all three levels tonight, with happy hour starting at 4pm, and dinner service starting at 5pm. It is about five blocks from the White House in Dupont Circle at 1141 Connecticut Ave NW.
Guests included: Kate Bennett, NBC's Dan Hellie and Doug Krammerer, Katya Ananieva, Vinoda Basnayake, Tatiana Brunetti, Michael Clements, Michelle Desrosiers, Ebong Eka, Ashraf Fawzy, Dannia Hakki, Hiba Hakki, Maha Hakki, Tony Hudgins, Judy Joud, Sandro Keresa, Phillip Latham, Becky Lee, Svetlana Legetic, Becca Clara Love, Kate Michael, Lara Mounir, Cori Sue Morris, Luigi Parasmo, Dennis Piddubnyi, Erika Pinto, Victoria Pomeroy, Bennett Richardson, Leo Schmid, Marissa Schneider, Ryan Seelbach, Masha Tatianina, Anchyi Wei, Micha Weinblatt, Michael Woestehoff and Lucien Zeigler.
