Although the residents of DC suffered through the heat on Friday, it was nothing compared to the white-hot competition at Dirty Martini on Friday. Philadelphia Eagles' linebacker Moise Fokou launched off his ROOT 53 Foundation by hosting the 2012 Great Maryland Culinary Clash featuring Chef Jason Cirksena and Justin Kearney.
The competition was judged by Hells Kitchen Chef Jason Ellis and Top Chef's Candice Kumai, who came with her new book Pretty Delicious in tow. The chefs were challenged to create both a visually appealing and delicious summer challenge. While the competition heated up, guests bid on signed NFL jerseys and danced to the music of DJ Amen Ra.
Moise Fokou's ROOT 53 Foundation provides support for DC's youth through athletic initiatives and summer camps.
