Interview: Local Fashion Designer Kendra McCullough Is Redefining DC's Fashion Scene One Seam At A Time

by Taylor Boozan · February 3, 2014

Native Washingtonian, Kendra McCullough, is on a mission to redefine and refurbish the District's fashion scene. Twenty-four years young and recent graduate of Marymount University's fashion design program, McCullough is now working on her third collection under her own name and label and we had to get a sneak peek. Her opulent, powerful, and unique designs have earned her the resumé she has today, which boasts an editorial in Vogue Italia! One would think that such a talented designer would want to relocate to one of the world's more notable "fashion capitals", but she is happiest here, and truly believes in the future of DC's fashion industry. With such a passion for fashion and our charming city, we had to sit down with her and catch a behind-the-scenes look at McCullough's Pre-Fall 2014 lookbook photo shoot while getting to know the budding designer.
