Brightest Young Things Loves America

by MADELEINE STARKEY · July 7, 2010

In homage to all things American, BrightestYoungThings hosted a "Cowboy" edition of its Summer Camp bash this past Saturday (next one: July 17's "Cold Water" (read: hard nipples) theme).  While some might think it was simply an excuse to have another party, we have photographic evidence that this was, in fact, a party all about America.

Among Americana examples,

Way more beers than is necessary to be carried at once, transported by a man missing a tooth no less (Americana of the Southern persuasion?)

Hooray diversity!  (These dudes are fierce)

Pointless drinking gimmicks--this one, with Vitamin Water, is less American than the booze alternative.

Guns!  God bless the 2nd Amendment

Red, white, and blue forever!

The belly flop.  Originated in America.  No other culture practices it.

This is somehow evocative of everyone's favorite creeper/womanizer, Mr. Hugh Hefner.  Uber-American.
