Celebrate Beaujolais Nouveau, A Holiday Dedicated To Drinking Wine, In DC

by Ayanna Alleyne · November 20, 2013

Here at Guest of a Guest, we always welcome a reason to party with open arms. So, if France finds reason to celebrate one of their cheaper and youngest wines, we can to! The annual "holiday" of Beaujolais Nouveau can be celebrated at Bistrot du Coin, where they will be following the tradition by beginning the drinking at the at the stroke of midnight. Though this wine may not be the most sophisticated, its marketing reputation is pretty lavish. This wine comes out annually on the third Thursday in November, and brings together large amounts of people worldwide for tasting parties.

Bistrot du Coin in Dupont Circle is known for having the best Beaujolais Nouveau party in DC. With free admission, free-flowing wine, a DJ blasting French hits, performers on stilts and strobe lights, there truly is no better place to spend your Wednesday night...or any night. Of course with so many bonuses to attending this party, it's very difficult to get in. People wait on lines that stretch down Connecticut Ave., if they don't have a dinner reservation (Reservations are booked, we checked). Try to start lining up around 11pm to be allowed in. Bonne chance!
