Drive-In Movies Making A Comeback At Union Market

by Morgan Evans · June 27, 2013

This summer, one of the iconic activities that defined the 50's and 60's will be reborn in the district. Starting July 12th, drive-in movies are coming back to Washington, and you'll be able to pull up in your car to watch DC-centric films on Union Market’s 3-story wall...and some of them are rated R!

The DC Drive–in will start movie showings at 9pm on Fridays, and the lot opens at 7pm for cars with 8pm reservations. Get there early for the full experience equipped with the DC Rollergirls acting as car hops, fun contests, and other activities before the on-screen showing. If you don’t have a car, that’s okay! You can walk up and enjoy the feature film in the picnic area.

    The DC Drive-in Schedule:

July 12: Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

    July 19: Distinguished Gentleman (R)

July 26: The American President (PG13)

August 2: No Way Out (R)
