Other details: The Hearts & Homes for Youth HONORS Gala is an annual event to raise money and awareness for our organization’s life-changing programs for youth in Maryland. The event is dedicated to celebrating special individuals who have selflessly dedicated their lives to the betterment of children’s futures, thereby assuring brighter futures and the realization of dreams, perhaps otherwise denied. The program featured circus performances, a stellar silent auction and an awards ceremony.
Board member Vic Seested presented Miss Rhode Island Markita Bryant with the Avis Birely award, named after Seested's Grandmother who, as the first woman President of the Montgomery County Council, was instrumental in securing the grant that launched the organization under the leadership of Founder Rex Smith.
