UK Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife Samantha were treated to a lavish State Dinner at the White House last night in a star-studded affair that hosted celebrities, musicians, media moguls and politicos. John Legend (a favorite of the Obamas) and British folk-rockers Mumford & Sons were the musical acts.
The State Dinner had 362 guests, the largest so far for President Obama. Among the notables were Secretaries, Supreme Court Justices, George Clooney, who sat next to the first lady, Warren Buffet, Sir Richard Branson, Anna Wintour, The Bidens, Jon Favreau, Gwen Ifill, Valerie Jarrett, John Kerry, Teresa Heinz Kerry, Debra Lee, Denise Rosemarie Lewis, Rory McIlroy, Lady Ruth Rogers, Charlie Rose, Harvey Weinstein. Michelle Obama wore deep teal Marchesa designed by Georgina Chapman, who was a guest at the dinner. Samantha Cameron wore a blue Alessandra Rich gown. Michelle's makeup was done by Carl Ray, her makeup artist.
At least 47 (13%) of the guests at last night’s dinner were big ($50,000+) Obama campaign donors/bundlers.
