Revenge of the Nerds At George Brings Out the Next Generation of DC Young Professionals

by Alexa Lombardo · September 30, 2011

George, the super-exclusive, list-only lounge in Georgetown, hosted a Mathletes vs. Athletes themed party last night. It was clear that this was a nerd’s time to shine. Bowties, suspenders and wide-framed glasses were all over the place - mostly worn by the Georgetown University crowd that has been frequenting the lounge lately.

Co-owned by Reed Landry, co-founder of LateNightShots.com, and friend Hunter Campbell, George has become a favorite of DC socialites and young professionals. It has recently become popular among university students aiming to escape the usual dive bar scene and trade up for the swanky speakeasy-style bar. DJ BaldSpot, Brendan Martin, played an eclectic mix the crowd went crazy for. Looks like the Georgetown students are here to stay.
