How to start the week off D.C. style: have a little cocktail fun with some of D.C.’s best while doing good for the Gulf.  Last night, we stopped by the trendy Hudson restaurant for the kick-off cocktail party of their week long fundraising effort to support the Gulf Restoration Network.

The restaurant will be showcasing seafood specialties from the Gulf of Mexico in addition to special cocktails, like the Bloody BP Oyster Shooter - we give them a ‘GofG BRAVO’ for the all-too-appropriate name.

Socialites, philanthropists, entrepreneurs and PR moguls were spotted chilling alfresco at Hudson’s patio lounge, savoring some of the delish specialties the restaurant is showcasing this week.  And lucky for us, we got there just in time for a group ‘bloody’ toasting of the special oyster shooter. Who said Fundays are just for Sundays?  GofG is officially claiming a Monday Funday.

While we were there, we also spotted the Washington Kastles team dining in the private back room.  Hmmm… we wonder if they were strategizing plays for the week ahead, considering they will be playing John McEnroe tonight and Anna Kournikova tomorrow.   Will Anna finally bring hottie Enrique Iglesias to the Nation’s capital?  GofG will be covering the matches all week long, so you’ll have to stay tuned for the scoop.

A percentage of all Hudson’s sales this week will be donated to the Gulf Restoration Network. To find out more about their weekly specials and events visit Hudson's website.
