Cori Sue Morris and Becca Clara Love, the writers behind BitchesWhoBrunch.com, put together a brunch soiree for 200 ladies (and gentlemen!) at Ris. The afternoon raised thousands of dollars for D.C. Farm to School Network.

The event was sponsored by a plethora of local glitzy companies in addition to Ris: D.C. Dance Collective, Neuro Drinks, Progressions Salon & Spa, Port City Brewery, DJ Raha Wala, Venga, Popchips, Frosting Cupcakery, Simply Soles, and Honest Tea. Local food and social celebrities donned outfits from South Moon Under and Rue 14, including gorgeous Metrocurean founder Amanda McClements Martin, heath guru and man-about-town Chad Hamilton, and beauty queen Christa Taylor Aiken.

Also modeling was Helena Andrews, author of Bitch is the new Black. Her book takes a satirical look at successful young black women living in Washington. We overheard several people talking about her collaborating with Shonda Rhimes, exec producer of Grey\'s Anatomy, on a film adaptation of her book. Since her writing experience extends from her book to her stints at the New York Times and Politico, Andrews will be writing the screenplay as well.

The D.C. Farm to School Network is a coalition of hundreds of diverse stakeholders working to incorporate healthier, local foods and food education into D.C. schools.
