Know What You Are Signing Up For

1. Know What You Are Signing Up For
This seems obvious, but so many times we imagine our name in lights and those lights end up blinding us from realizing what we are getting into. You have nothing to worry about if you are discussing your business with a local news anchor, judging an elimination show (lucky you!) or are starring in a segment on HGTV as you remodel a room in your house. It's when you sign up for things like WifeSwap--which makes everyone look bad no matter what--or The Bachelor franchise when you need to carve out time to discuss your "character" with the show producers. The producers are going to cut things to make you look however they want you to look, so make it easy for them. If you know beforehand you are going to be portrayed as an asshole, at least you can try your best to be the greatest asshole television has ever seen! [Will we ever forget Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag from The Hills and Big Brother? No. Via]
